Royal Hotel Beenleigh

The Royal Hotel Beenleigh

The Royal Hotel Beenleigh has been renewed through a considered refurbishment that refreshes the venue’s key hospitality spaces while reinforcing its role as a longstanding landmark within the town centre. Located on George Street in the heart of Beenleigh, the hotel has been part of the community fabric for well over a century, serving as a familiar meeting place for locals and visitors alike.

Established during the late nineteenth century, the Royal Hotel emerged at a time when Beenleigh was developing as an important regional centre supported by the surrounding sugar industry and the railway connection between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. As the town grew around these industries, the hotel evolved alongside it, remaining a central social hub within the community.

C+W’s refurbishment carefully reconsiders the venue as a contemporary hospitality destination while acknowledging the character expected of a well-established Queensland pub. Interior spaces have been reconfigured to improve flow and functionality across the venue, with updated finishes, lighting and material selections introducing a refined yet welcoming atmosphere suited to everyday dining, social gatherings and relaxed pub culture.

The design balances contemporary hospitality expectations with the familiar character of a traditional local hotel, creating a series of comfortable and adaptable spaces that support the venue’s ongoing role within Beenleigh’s town centre.

Through a considered approach to layout, materiality and atmosphere, C+W’s hospitality design brings renewed life to the Royal Hotel Beenleigh, positioning the venue for its next chapter while continuing the long-standing tradition of the pub as a place where the community comes together.
