The refurbishment of Benowa Tavern reimagines this established local venue through a renewed architectural identity, creating a contemporary hospitality destination that remains grounded in its Benowa community.

The exterior transformation focused on strengthening the Tavern’s presence and identity, with integrated lighting, signage and architectural detailing creating a bold and welcoming arrival. By day, the refreshed façade establishes a confident street presence, while considered illumination brings the building to life after dark.

Internally, the Bistro, Sports Bar and Gaming Room were completely refurbished, with each space given its own character while forming part of a cohesive venue experience. Materiality, detailing and design references draw inspiration from the venue’s location and local community, creating spaces that feel familiar, relaxed and distinctly connected to place.

The result is a revitalised Benowa Tavern that balances contemporary design with the character of a much-loved local — strengthening its identity while creating an inviting destination for dining, drinking and socialising.
