The Albion Hotel

The Albion Hotel – Historic Refurbishment

Cayas + Ward were proud to lead the $5 million refurbishment of the iconic Albion Hotel, a landmark first built in the 1890s and the namesake of its Brisbane suburb.

The project reimagined every corner of this heritage venue: from the sports bar, dining spaces and beer garden, to the restaurant terrace, cellar-style function rooms and gaming lounge. A new Marana pizza oven was introduced to the kitchen, enhancing the venue’s food offering and anchoring its new Italian dining experience.

Architecturally, the refurbishment was about stripping back layers of past alterations to reveal the original beauty of the Albion’s brickwork and timber structure. The interiors were carefully modernised while staying true to the building’s heritage, layered with Endeavour Group’s Signor Fox Italian restaurant theme to bring a warm, contemporary identity to the space.

Externally, architectural lighting highlights the historic fabric, giving the Albion a renewed presence and celebrating its role as a neighbourhood landmark. The result is a seamless blend of old and new – an atmospheric, character-filled hotel that honours its past while embracing the future of hospitality.
