Con Cayas

With 29 years of industry experience since graduating from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Built Environment and a Bachelor of Architecture, Con Cayas brings a wealth of knowledge to Cayas + Ward. As a registered Architect in Queensland (BOAQ 3281), Victoria (Reg 17430), South Australia (Reg 3655), and Western Australia (Reg 3329), Con’s professional journey has been deeply rooted in the hospitality sector from the very beginning.

He began his career at Brand and Slater Architects, where he honed his skills and developed a passion for creating simple, efficient designs that are highly functional and focused on delivering strong returns on investment. This design philosophy has been a cornerstone of his approach throughout his career.

Previously serving as a Director at KP Architects, Con founded Cayas Architects in 2009, laying the foundation for what would become Cayas + Ward Architects. Over the past 15 years, he has successfully managed and grown the business, navigating challenging periods such as the COVID era. Together with his co-directors, Con has expanded the firm from a two-person operation to a team of nearly 30 professionals.

Con’s extensive experience and leadership have positioned Cayas + Ward Architects as a leading firm in the hospitality sector, delivering projects that embody his vision of functional efficiency and optimal return on investment.
