Con Cayas

With 30+ years of industry experience since graduating from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Built Environment and a Bachelor of Architecture, Con brings a wealth of knowledge to Cayas + Ward. As a registered Architect in multiple states, Con’s professional journey has been deeply rooted in the hospitality sector from the very beginning.

He began his career at a leading architectural practice specialising in hospitality, where he honed his skills and developed a passion for creating simple, efficient designs that are highly functional and focused on delivering strong returns on investment. This design philosophy has been a cornerstone of his approach throughout his career.

Previously serving as a director at another leading architectural practice specialising in hospitality, Con founded Cayas Architects in 2009, laying the foundation for what would become Cayas + Ward. Over the past 15 years, he has successfully managed and grown the business, navigating challenging periods such as the COVID era. Together with his co-directors, Con has expanded the firm from a two-person operation to a team of nearly 40 professionals.

Con’s extensive experience and leadership have positioned Cayas + Ward as a leading firm in the hospitality sector, delivering projects that embody his vision of functional efficiency and optimal return on investment.
